Nap Nanny Recall

I saw an ad for these when I was pregnant with The Bird and thought they looked like a good idea. After reading this report though, I’m glad I never made the purchase. Apparently at least one infant suffocated after wriggling off the side of the Nap Nanny and getting caught between it and the crib bumper. So very sad. Lots of other babies have been injured in falls as well. Read more here.

Horrible. It concerns me that there are no real guidelines to infant products. Anyolebody can come up with a product, make it and then wait and see. The problem is that there is usually a life lost in the wait and see process and one infant life is too many. WHOA soapbox. Sorry! But this really pisses me off. If we are going to regulate every other damn thing in the world, how about regulate products for one of the most vulnerable sectors of the population?
